Lewis  DeSouza
DeSouza, Lewis, of West Newton, March 24, 2016. Beloved husband of Mary Lou (Perry) DeSouza. Devoted father of Nick of No. Conway, NH, Richard A. and his wife Celeste of Sacramento, CA, Mark P. and his wife Nancy of Bedford, John D. of Provincetown, Diane M. Scurio of Brockton, Robert M. of Newton and Mary Margaret "Mimi" DeSouza and her wife Kimberly Lane of Norristown, PA. Dear brother of John of Florida, Manuel of Falmouth, Mary Tavares of Falmouth, Genevieve Farrington of CA, and Margaret DeSouza of Boston. Grandfather of Kara Dawn, Melissa, Joseph, Kitty and Michelle. He graduated from Ohio University where he met Mary Lou, his beloved wife of 65 years. He served in the Army Air Corps and the Air Force in both WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a respected Professional Engineer licensed in both Civil and Fire Protection Engineering. A devoted member of St. Bernard’s Parish, he served as the President of the Holy Name Society. He was an Eagle Scout and Scoutmaster of Norumbega Council Troop 355. Lou loved to sing and was a member of the local Barbershop Chorus and the church choir and also enjoyed golfing. Funeral from the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte.16), West Newton, Wednesday, March 30, at 10:00 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bernard's Church, West Newton at 11:30 AM. Interment services in the Massachusetts National Veteran's Cemetery, Bourne, MA at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Lewis's memory to the St. Bernard's Sanctuary Fund or Homebound Ministry-http://www.ccbparish.org/Homebound-Ministry.
