Flessas of Cambridge, Michael L. Flessas of Boston, Maura B. Flessas of Newton, and Amy E. Sugrue & her husband Damian Sugrue of North Grafton. Lisa was born September 20, 1957 in Brighton, MA, daughter of the late Mary (Leach) and John Flessas. She grew up in the Auburndale section of Newton and graduated from Newton North High School in 1975. Always adventurous, shortly after graduation she lived in Denver, Colorado, then backpacked through Europe. She was a long-time employee of the Massachusetts State Lottery. Lisa and Brian were happily married for 35 years and they loved to entertain friends and family in their home. Lisa was an avid Red Sox fan, loved gardening and was a voracious reader, particularly of newspapers. Lisa was frequently described as thoughtful, generous and outgoing. She was known for her quick and witty sense of humor. Lisa’s large circle of friends included those from her early childhood, as well as friends she made throughout different stages of her life. She was adored by her three nieces whom she loved to spoil. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure to know and love her, and in a special way we say, Thank you, Lisa.
All are welcome to gather with Lisa’s family and friends on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. West Newton, MA. Services and burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, and to honor Lisa’s love of the Red Sox, gifts may be made in her name to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O.
