Obituary for Ursula Turano

Ursula Turano (Reidy) Age 87, died after a brief illness on Monday, April 3, 2023, at her home in Lexington, MA. She was the beloved wife of 58 years of Anthony Turano, Jr., and the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Reidy.

She was born May 15, 1935, in Arlington and raised in Belmont, where she attended Payson Park Elementary and Belmont High School. She went on to graduate from Radcliffe College in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Relations.

Before marrying the love of her life, Anthony, she was active in politics and spent years in Washington, DC, in the Kennedy Administration. Her service became the launching pad for her lifelong passion for giving to and helping others – both in her personal life and her career in fundraising and development. In addition to her busy career, Ursula was active on many boards, including the Boston Architectural Center, the Wellesley Historical Society, and the Harvard Club.

Ursula is survived by her husband Anthony and their two children, Margaret of Charlestown, MA, and Michael of Denver, CO. She was the adoring grandmother of Willow Turano (Micah Ramos), also of Denver. She was the sister of the late David Reidy and his wife Audrey of Scituate, Cynthia Cronin of Hingham, and sister-in-law Emilie Turano of Somerville, and Paul and Carole Turano of Lancaster, PA. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and a slew of loyal friends, which she amassed throughout her rich life.

A Funeral Service to celebrate Ursula will be held on Tuesday, April 18 at St Andrew’s Church in Wellesley at 11:30 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ursula’s honor can be made to end Alzheimers www.alz.org.
