Obituary for Adele C. "Del" Stanley (DiGiando)

Adele C. (DiGiando) Stanley “Del” passed away peacefully at the Carlyle House in Framingham on May 11, 2022, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was the wife of the late Brian Stanley and the daughter of the late Angelo and Lena (Scriappa) DiGiando.

Born in Wellesley, she spent her entire career in retail working mostly for Jordan Marsh, Filene’s Basement and Marshall’s.

Adele was an avid reader, New England Sports Fan and enjoyed a good glass of scotch. She also loved traveling with her close friends and visiting her cousins at Hampton Beach.

She is survived by her brother Dennis DiGiando and his wife Mary Lou. Her niece Christine (Jason) Worthington of Uxbridge and her nephews Brian (Melissa) DiGiando and David (Jill St. Martin) DiGiando of Milford. She is also survived by her 5 great nephews, Matthew and Ryan Worthington and Andrew, Samuel and Owen DiGiando who she adored.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. John the Evangelist Church on Wednesday, May 18 at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting will be prior to the Mass from 9-10AM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St(Rt 16) Wellesley. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
