Obituary for Beverly E. Hadley-Price (Elliott)

Beverly E. Hadley-Price of Waban passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her family, on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of Russell “Bill” Price, she is the loving mother of Tod Hadley and his wife Rhea Stone, Peter Hadley and his wife Mary, Jeffrey Hadley and his wife Susan, Anne Hadley and her husband Tom Vawter and Susan Haggie and her partner Kent Vienneau. She was predeceased by her first husband Dr. William B. Hadley and son-in-law Tom Haggie. The devoted grandmother to 12, Rebecca, Christopher, Nichole, Devon, Zachary, Benjamin, Gregory, Michela, Stephanie, Willamina, Jennifer, and Chris; she was also great-grandmother of 5.

Beverly grew up on a dairy farm in the beautiful town of Petersham, Massachusetts. She went to Petersham High School, where she graduated with a class of four in 1949. She graduated from Simmons College in 1953 with a degree in Business Administration and went on to become a medical secretary and office manager. She attended her beloved Union Church in Waban for over 60 years, where she served as a deacon and on countless groups and committees with many of her closest friends.

Beverly was an avid reader, and loved to travel with her family. She bravely took her children and two of their friends on a seven week cross-country camping trip in 1976. More recently, she traveled with her children to Turkey, Italy, and Norway.

Beverly loved people, and welcomed countless friends and strangers into her home over the years. Many of those visitors came to know her as “Ma” or “Gram”. More than anything, she loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, and her home was the center of activity for all holidays and family gatherings. She was always kind and loving and a joy to be around. She will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 16 at 10AM in The Union Church, 14 Collins Rd. Waban. Interment will be private. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 4-7PM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St. West Newton. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly’s name may be made to the Union Church in Waban.
