Obituary for Philip Sullivan

Philip Sullivan of Newton, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the age of 73. Born in Newton to the late Edward and Margaret (Cronin) Sullivan, he was the dear brother of the late Paul, Robert and Edward Sullivan and devoted nephew of the late Mary C. Cronin. He is survived by cousins Martha Stocker of Winchester, Richard Stickney of Malden and Philip Stickney of Rowley, predeceased by cousin Sergeant William J. Stickney of Saugus.

Philip grew up in Cambridge and devoted over 40 years to the Cambridge School System as a beloved teacher at the Peabody School. Philip will be remembered as an avid fan of Boston sports particularly the Celtics and Red Sox. He also had a love for anything Irish.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 10th at Noon in St. Bernard Parish, 1523 Washington St. West Newton. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Philip’s memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at www.Parkinson.org
