Dorothy Mary (Aquilino) Cosolito, 89, of Marlborough, MA passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 4, 2021 surrounded by family. She was born in Newton, MA on March 27, 1932 to Michele and Anna (Bruno) Aquilino of Needham, MA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Theresa Aquilino of Weston, MA and her loving husband of 44 years, Frank B. Cosolito.

A resident of Wellesley, MA for 40 years, Dorothy and Frank lovingly raised their three children, all while working together running their family business, The Red Barn Nursery and the Copper Boot Gift Shop in Easton, MA. There she showcased her talent for gardening and floral design. After the death of her husband Frank, Dorothy relocated to Marlborough, MA where she embraced her community and her church.
Her true passion was spending time with her husband and family. She loved to host weekly Sunday dinners and all holidays. She was an excellent cook who embraced her Italian heritage creating wonderful dishes such as delicious homemade ravioli, meatballs and tomato gravy.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Frank and Susan Cosolito of Medfield, MA, Stephen and Donna Cosolito of North Carolina, and Julie and Thomas Shinnick of Holliston, MA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Stephen and his wife Aubrey Cosolito of Wake Forest, NC, Leigh and her husband Harrison Crabtree of New Orleans, Christopher Cosolito of Greenville, NC, Frank and James Cosolito of Medfield, Charles Murphy of Holliston, Ashley Hill and her husband Jared of Framingham and Angela Crothers and her husband Matt of Ayer, as well as her five great grandchildren, Grant, Cameron, Callie, Lily and Mya. Dorothy was also the loving aunt to Donna Lee, Daniel, Michael, Patricia and their families.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington Street, Wellesley, MA on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 10:00am with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, July 7, 2021, 5:00 – 8:00pm. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her name.
