Obituary for Marsha Louise Eldredge (Dolbier)

Marsha Louise (Dolbier) Eldredge passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her home in Newton surrounded by family.

Marsha was born on June 20, 1943 to Edgar Bryant Dolbier Jr. of Watertown and Violet Atwood Dolbier of Cape Sable Island, Nova Scotia. She is a graduate of the class of 1961 of Newton High School. A lifelong resident of Newton, Marsha found great joy in the countless seasons, beginning in her own childhood, spent with family and friends in the Onset Village community. She served as a Deaconess at the Auburndale Congregational Church. As a leader in the Girls Scouts of America, she volunteered many years to the growth and development of young ladies in the local Council, and further was instrumental in setting direction for the organization at the regional and national levels. This spirit of support and assistance to the Newton community carried with her during her career and membership in the National Association of Realtors.

At her very core was a love for her extended family. Throughout her life, Marsha offered care, compassion, support and guidance. She relished spending time with her family and friends, and in creating and maintaining traditions that will carry on in the hearts of those that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Lorraine Jordan and Sandra Mackie. Marsha is survived by her husband William Eldredge; her children, Paige Curtin, West Eldredge and daughter-in-law Janine Olwood, and Mara Getsy and son-in-law William Getsy Jr.; her eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren; her sister Carolyn Whitney; sister-in-law Jane Read, and many nieces and nephews.

She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A private graveside service is being held by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Onset Bay Association https://onsetvillage60383.wildapricot.org/Donate.
