Obituary for Anthony Santagati
Anthony Santagati, 83 of Newton, died on February 15th in Norwood. He was the beloved son of the late Sebastian and Rose (Sprizza) Santagati.
Anthony was born January 1, 1938 in Boston and moved to Newton in 1969 where he raised his family. He was a long-time employee of Raytheon Company in Waltham, MA, a coach of many young men in Newton West Little League and an all-around wonderful and loving man.
Anthony was the loving husband of the beautiful Barbara (Huculak). Loving father of Anthony Santagati Jr. and his wife Brenda of Abington, Patricia Ellis and her husband Geoff of Dedham, Dianne Girouard and her husband Claude of Newton, and John Santagati and his wife Julie of Framingham. He was the loving and doting grandfather of Ellen Santagati, Connor Ellis, Gina Santagati and Isabella Santagati. Papa liked nothing more than his time with his grandchildren, making them smile and laugh on all occasions. He was the brother of Josephine Ensko, the late Carmela (Millie) McLaughlin, Connie Beaulieu, Rose Gagnon, Eleanor MacLean and John Santagati. Anthony also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Anthony loved spending time with family and watching his beloved RedSox (including winter replays).
As a result of ongoing COVID restrictions funeral services will be private.
