Obituary for Mary Ellen Brown (Curtin)

Mary Ellen Brown (nee Curtin), beloved Mum and Nana, 75, passed away at home on Dec.18, 2020 following a long and brave battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

By her side, her husband of 52 years, Phillip J. Brown, often reminisced over the life they had built together.
Mary Ellen’s biggest joy came from her family. She worked with unwavering determination to create a happy life for those around her.

Mary Ellen guided her children and grandchildren with strength, loyalty, compassion and above all grace.
The best days were filled with toddlers, pancakes, hugs, hockey and soccer games; Boston sport’s teams, holidays and most memorably Sunday dinners with lots of laughter.

Above all, Mary Ellen expressed that the most important meaning of her life was the love for her family and those she leaves behind; loving husband, Phillip J Brown; Son, David Brown and wife, Jennifer and their children, Jack, Kelsey, Kate and Elvis; Daughter, Martha Brown; Son, P.J. Brown, and wife Colette and their children, William and Hannah; Son, Matthew Brown, and wife Kelly and their children Quinn and Nolan; Son Jeffrey Brown and love Brittany Doon. Mary Ellen also leaves behind her brother Richard Curtin and wife Anne, Sister Martha Burbank, Brother-in-law Dennis Brown and wife CharAnn; Sister-in-law Mary Brown and Partner Paula St. Louis, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

With her open heart and wonderful cooking, Mary Ellen made every Christmas a joyful memory. She was looking forward to Christmas this year with great anticipation. She will instead be our stellar beauty, our Christmas star. She would want you all to celebrate a perfect day with those that you love.

Due to current restrictions, there will be one calling hour on December 26th at Burke Funeral Home in Wellesley, MA from 10am-11am, followed by a family mass and burial.
