Ralph R. O'Dowd, a lifelong resident of Newton, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of 66 years of Paula (Blunda), he is the loving father of Lois Woods and her husband Kevin of Millbury and Philip O’Dowd of Millis. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren Kara Gancarz and her husband Dave, Brian, Kelly and Kristin O’Dowd and great-granddaughter Lucy. Dear brother of the late George O’Dowd, he leaves many nieces and nephews. A graduate of Newton High School, Ralph served in the National Guard before joining the City of Newton Fire Department, where he served for 32 years. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
