Obituary for Marjorie "Midge" Hines Ryan
Marjorie Hines Ryan "Midge" formerly of Newton, passed away Friday, December 11, 2020 at the age of 95. Loving mother of Patricia Hines of Swampscott and David Hines and his wife Kathleen of West Roxbury. She was predeceased by her husband David J. Hines in 1981, and second husband James A. Ryan in 2008.
Midge was the daughter of the late Charles and Nora (Cox) Kearny of Auburndale. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Kearney of Marshfield, and her sister Joan Cormay of Falmouth.
She is survived by her sister Barbara (Kearney) Staszesky of Framingham, her daughter Patricia A. Hines of Swampscott, her son David J. Hines Jr.(Kathleen) of West Roxbury, grandson David J. Hines, III (Casey) of West Bridgewater, grandson Patrick A. Hines of Roslindale, granddaughter Erin K. Menard (Brian) of Franklin, grandson Justin A. Hines(Julie) of Cherry Hill, NJ, great grandchildren Natalie, Flynn, and Maeve Hines of West Bridgewater, Liam, Emma, and Avery Menard of Franklin and many nieces and nephews.
Midge was a graduate of Newton (now Newton North) High School and the Nursing Cadet program at the Newton- Wellesley Hospital where she earned a Registered Nurse Certification shortly after the Second World War.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, December 15th from 4-7PM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., West Newton. Due to limited church capacity, please contact David Hines, Jr. or Patricia Hines directly if you wish to attend funeral services on Wednesday, December 16th.
