I was in a state of deep sorrow since since the passing of Nancy. My heartfelt prayers and condolences go out to you and her family.
I was so very fortunate to have worked with Nancy at the Hingham Historical Society (HHS) . I feel as though I have known Nancy for many years. Her compassion and enthusiasm was totally in sync with mine -- to preserve and promote the historic collections
at the HHS. You could see the excitement in her eyes! Our partnership was inevitably invaluable for the legacy of the HHS Archives. Nancy made an indelible impression on my life. I remember when I was interviewed for the position of Archivist.
She introduced me to a gentleman, unbeknownst to me, who would ultimately decide the outcome of the interview process,
As I now look back at this moment, I didn't realize this gentleman's role in the HHS until later -- that Henry Day was the HHS President! I was honored when he asked me: "Is it possible to have a copy of your report for my wife? That report was entitled "Preoccupation with Death in Puritan New England: A Look at Hingham, Massachusetts, 1620-1693." I was quite impressed!

I remember when Nancy was extremely excited and eager to have a professional archivist, along with having a background of interrelated fields of interest (library, archival, photography, genealogy and archaeology) as well as history. She felt as though it was a critical time to have a knowledgeable and proficient archivist to maneuver beneficial advances for the HHS Archives.
Nancy knew that from my credentials that I have an innate passion for history. I absolutely love working in the field of history, and teaching others to appreciate history. I certainly enjoyed working with Nancy. It was an exciting time in building
the foundation of the HHS Archives. Nancy loved the fact and was fascinated that one of my major strengths, Collections Management, was the crucial element toward the greatest potential of the Archives' existence into the 21st Century.
Nancy provided a never-ending source of strength, character, and determination to oversee and promote the growth of the HHS Archives. She engaged me in challenging projects within different capacities, such as, the extensive and tedious conversion from a manual card catalog system to an online access system (She had faith in me that I could accomplish anything, in addition to administration, organization, cataloging/classification, and conservation of archival, library, audiovisual, archaeological, photographic and special collections in the HHS Archives.

Most of all, Nancy saw that the both of us shared a common bond -- to preserve invaluable historic collections and to educate others, children and adults, from the school system, residents of Hingham and of the surrounding local communities about
the history of Hingham, and Hingham's role in our country's national heritage. Also, Nancy recognized and appreciated
the importance and value of "knowledge" which was passed down from our parents early family generations to future generations yet to come.

I will truly miss Nancy from the bottom of my heart! I will always remember working alongside her!
I will always remember Nancy, forever!

Fond memories of Nancy.
We rode the commuter train from West Newton to Boston and both worked at John Hancock Insurance.
Both of us were lovers of Cape Cod too.
You all are so lucky to have known her and shared memories and life.
