Obituary for Anil Wassan

Anil Wassan, 69, of Framingham, MA, passed Tuesday, April 23, 2019.

Anil was born to Harbans Lall and Anjana Wassan, February 1, 1950, in New Delhi, India. He received an engineering degree from NIT Rourkela, his naval architecture degree from IIT Kharagpur, and his MBA from Boston University. He married Rashmi Sandhu in 1978, and together they raised their two children.

He leaves as his legacy his two children: Anmol Wassan (Jennifer Cooney Wassan), and Amrita Wassan. He also leaves to cherish his memory two grandchildren, Arjun and Diya, and three sisters, Indu Khanna, Neeta Malhotra, and Sulekha Malhotra. His children remember him as a generous, kind-hearted, and fun loving man. His grandchildren remember all of the ice cream they got to eat with him!

Anil was a Commander in the Indian Navy and worked as a Naval architect until he retired from the service in 2001. He then moved to the states, completed an MBA in his fifties, and established a new career as a sought after supply chain consultant in the food industry.

A service is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 at 9:30am at Burke & Blackington Funeral Home. A reception will follow at First Unitarian Universalist Society in Newton. The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Barefoot College International at barefootcollege.org. Anil was very passionate about this organization that was started by a fellow Doon schoolmate.
