Obituary for Mysore V. Prabhakar

Mysore V Prabhakar (May 5, 1938 - February 14, 2019) - “Prabhu” formerly of Natick MA passed away at the Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley after a long illness.
Prabhu was born and raised in Mysore India. He was one of 6 children born to Mysore Vedavyasachar and Champaka Bai. He attended Yuvaraja's College from 1953 through 1955 and the National Institute of Engineering Mysore from 1956 through 1964 (BSEE). He played on the cricket teams for Mysore State Schools in 1954, Mysore University in 1956, and the Karnataka State B team. He immigrated to the USA in 1968 and was an engineer with Bechtel, Stone and Webster, Yankee Atomic, and the Central Artery Group. Prabhu enjoyed hosting parties and could often be found at the grill cooking for friends and family. He loved traveling, especially to the beach.
He was predeceased by his wife Chandrika with whom he enjoyed 46 years of marriage. He was also predeceased by his brother Gopinath of Mysore and his sister Malathi of Mysore. He leaves behind a son, Dileep Prabhakar and his wife Kate of Mansfield, and a daughter, Supriya Ghai and her husband Neeraj of Westford. He also leaves behind his 3 granddaughters, Tia, Cora, and Asha, his grandson Sunjay, his brothers Raghavendra and his wife Vatsala of Bangalore and Ravindra and his wife Judy of Natick, his sister Vasumathi of Bangalore, and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will take place on Sunday, February 24th from 4-5:30PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington Street, Wellesley MA 02481 followed by a Hindu Ceremony at 5:30PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the India Development and Relief Fund.
