Obituary for Donald James Buckley Jr.
Donald James Buckley, Jr. of Lynnfield, formerly from Wakefield, passed away on January 18, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. Donald enjoyed camping, the ocean, music, and living life to the fullest. He found joy in simplicity and was always available to help anyone in need.
Donald was the son of Carol A. (Gregorio) Buckley from Wakefield, who passed in 1995. He leaves behind his father Donald J. Buckley, Sr. and Sharon P. Buckley of Lynnfield, who has been a loving mother to Donald for the last 33 years. Donald is also survived by his sister Annemarie (Buckley) Shaffer and brother-in-law Brian Shaffer of Lynnfield, his sister Dawn T. Buckley of Lynnfield, and his sister Kelley L. (Buckley) Scott of Jupiter FL, his longtime girlfriend Melanie Powell of Reading, and his eight nieces and nephews.
Donald worked as a diesel mechanic for Power Products in Wakefield since graduating high school. He cherished his Power Products family, and they have been very supportive throughout his battle.
In honor of Donald, his loved ones will be gathering on January 25, 2019 at 8:45am, St. Maria Goretti Parish, 112 Chestnut Street, Lynnfield MA, for those who wish to express condolences to his family. A funeral mass will follow at 9:30am.
Memorial donations in memory of Donald may be made to the American Cancer Society and the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA.
