Obituary for Margarita Feliciano

Margarita Lopez de Feliciano, 96, died Friday, October 12, 2018.

Born March 23, 1922 in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of Anselmo Lopez and Agustina Canals, both from Borinquen, Aguadilla. Her grandfather Jose Canals moved from Mallorca, Spain to the island. She often mentioned him in her stories. Her husband for life was Pedro Feliciano who was also from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico. Margarita gave birth to two girls in Aguadilla, Rosa Lidia and Luz Delia. Within a few years the family moved to Brooklyn, New York. In Brooklyn she gave birth to her two sons, Peter and Roy. Her life was an example of courage and sacrifice all with the hope of providing a better life for her children. She was blessed to have 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was dedicated to her family and her strong faith in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Although Margarita never returned to live in her native Puerto Rico, she lived over 70 years between Brooklyn, Connecticut and Boston. Most of all she loved sharing her childhood experiences with her children and grandchildren. She lived a humble life full of love for her family, friends and her faith in Jesus Christ.
