Joseph P. Killilea
Killilea, Joseph P., Born February 22,1932 in Ireland ,Joe immigrated to the United States as a teen. Joe was sponsored and later adopted by the late Catherine and Patrick O’Connor.
Joe lived and worked at Saint Mary’s Hall on the campus of Boston College. For over 60 years He was an integral and valued member of the Jesuit Community. Joe made sure the community ran smoothly and with efficiency. He was quite proud of the gardens he tended with extreme care and knowledge.
He was an accomplished ballroom dancer, dancing many times a week both in the Boston area and upon retirement in Fort Lauderdale Florida.
Joe was a true gentleman, being such a private soul he would be surprised to realize how much he will be missed by the Jesuit Community at Boston College, many generations of nieces and nephews from the late , Winifred O’Connor Meek, Margaret O’Connor Kennedy , Patrica O’Connor Ridge ,John (Jack) O’Connor and Maureen O’Connor McDonald. his god children Irene Mayberry and Jeffrey Kennedy.
The dancing community at Gold Coast ballroom, along with friends in Fort Lauderdale Florida and Massachusetts
A Memorial mass will take place in the chapel at St. Mary’s Hall Boston College Chestnut Hill on June 23rd at 10:00am. Internment St. Joseph’s Cemetery West Roxbury Ma.
In lieu of flowers the Jesuit community and Joes family would be honored for you to buy a plant and think of joe as it blooms. Or donations to a charity of ones choice.
