Richard G. (Ricky) Pontz, 52, of Canton, MA, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2018 while receiving hospice care following a series of illnesses.
Formerly of Newton Center, Ricky was the beloved son of the late Sarah A. (Rooney) Pontz and the late George R. Pontz of Newton Center.

Cherished nephew of the late William J. and Jane Rooney of Newton Center.
Special cousin to B. J. and Trish Rooney of Clinton, WA and David A. Rooney.Ricky is also survived by other cousins and friends.
Ricky spent some of the happiest and most fulfilling years later in life under the care and love given to him while residing at Lifeworks – Pecunit House in Canton.

At Pecunit, Ricky loved listening to music, taking trips, Dunkin Donuts, laughing and flirting and watching the Red Sox and Bruins on TV.

An immeasurable amount of thanks and gratitude goes to Stephanie, Samantha, Jenny, Dara, Sue and the entire staff of Pecunit House.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:30 AM in the lower chapel of Sacred Heart Church, 1321 Center St., Newton Center followed by interment in Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Center.Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
