Barbara Ann Abeles
Born on June 26, 1929 in Dorcester, Ma. Daughter of Leon and Mary Mincher. After graduating Boston Girl’s Latin school she moved to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago. She married Robert H. Abeles in September of 1948 . They moved to Newton in 1964 where she lived for 50 years. She worked as a librarian in both the Widener and Weston Public Library. She leaves her sister Eleanor Szabo and her children Lisa and Steven and was pre-deceased by her husband Robert, her brother Dalton Mincher and her sister Louise Gohn. Through a long struggle with Alzheimers, she focused on love, generosity and gratitude. She inspired and will be missed by many. She passed away on March 21, 2014 at home surrounded by those who loved her. Remembrances can be made in her name to the Fisher Center for Alzheimers Research Foundation
