Irene F. DeLorie (McManus) parted this life peacefully on October 25, 2018 at home in Natick surrounded by her loving family. Irene was born on February 4, 1926 to William and Elizabeth McManus, one of 11 children. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Webb and her husband Bob of Westboro, Nancy Finnegan and her husband Owen of Dracut, Joanne Murphy of Mendon, Jean Battaglia of Natick, Michele Kasbarian and her husband Hank of Ashland, John DeLorie and his wife Lauren of Wrentham, Bill DeLorie and his wife Kathy of Holliston, Rick DeLorie and his wife Ellie of Natick. Also survived by 23 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren and one sister Anna Bliss of Framingham, sister-in-law Lillian DeLorie of Wellesley and sister-in-law Mary McManus of Crofton, MD.
Preceding her in death were her grandson Billy DeLorie, great-grandson Ty Webb, brothers, William, Edward, John, Robert and James McManus, sisters Esther Delaney, Elizabeth Bowden, Mary Hall and Helen Boniface.
Irene was married to John DeLorie in 1945 until his death in 1967. She graduated from Natick High School and worked at Mount Ida and Regis College book stores as well as the Jordan Marsh Bakery and Macy’s.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday October 31st at 10AM in St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd. Wellesley followed by interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 3-7PM in the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St. Wellesley. In lieu of flowers, donations in Irene’s memory may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association at MDA.org or to the American Cancer Society at Cancer.org.
