Condolence: My wife and I were saddened to learn of Andrew’s most untimely passing. When we last spoke with him, he was cheerful and upbeat.
We knew Andrew through Noroton Presbyterian Church, where he was probably one of our closest friends there and a great addition to the choir. We always made an effort to seek him out and enjoy a pleasant conversation. But the friendship was based upon more than his friendly personality: we also shared a mutual affection for Colgate University from which our daughter graduated recently.
Since Andrew enjoyed about 12 inches of height over me, we always addressed him as Big Andrew. However, because I enjoy a few YEARS over him, he insisted upon addressing ME as Big Andrew, and that I refer to him as YOUNG Andrew.
We also enjoyed his feigned confusion between 6-year old twins at our church. He would continually refer to each child by the other’s name, much to their delight. The only problem was that they are NON-IDENTICAL twins… and one is a BOY and one is a GIRL.
Andrew was very popular at the church, and well-known (and easily identified!) by staff and parishioner alike. We extend our sincerest sympathy to his family. He will be greatly missed by all.
