Life Story for Rose Parker

Rose Mary (Goolishian) Parker, 85, of Wellesley, passed away with family by her side at her home on Thursday, November 16, 2017. She was born July 6, 1932, in Belmont to the late Hagop and Siranoush (Mardirosian) Goolishian, of Armenian decent.

She graduated Belmont High School and was a professional woman pioneer at Arthur D. Little as the Assistant to the Vice President, until she retired to marry and start her family. Rose raised her two sons in an idyllic neighborhood, surrounded by woods and ponds where her sons and their friends built forts, played flag football and ice skated. As much as her sons enjoyed this, Rose was even more thrilled to see all the boys routinely returning to her home for refreshments and treats, as nothing gave her more joy than caring for all those she loved so much. She also cared for countless neighborhood children for decades and always maintained a home full of youthful activity and love. Celebrating holidays and special events with her grandchildren was the fulfillment of her life-long dream to see them all become happy and healthy young adults. With endless love, we will all cherish her memory forever.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Ralph H. Parker, of 52 years, who was tirelessly devoted to her. She is also survived by her adoring two sons, Eric R. Parker and Jeffrey J. Parker and six grandchildren, Ryan, Justin, Rachelle, Jason, Hayden and Jared, and their mothers, Stacey L. Coady and Aimee A. Parker. She was predeceased by her brother Thomas Goolishian, of Belmont.

Visiting hours were held at the Henry J. Burke Funeral Home in Wellesley on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 2:00-5:00 pm. Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of family. Condolences may be shared at www.burkefamilyfuneralhomes.com
