Gautreau, Linda Theresa (DiBenedetto), of Auburndale, August 12, 2017. Beloved wife of Raymond E. Gautreau. Devoted Daughter of the late Angelo and Theresa DiBenedetto. Dear sister of Rita Capodilupo and her husband Peter of Newton, Diane McNamara and her husband John of Newton, Rick DiBenedetto of Sherborn and his late wife Marta, Jean DiBenedetto of Newton, the late Nick DiBenedetto and his wife Paula of Randolph, Frances O'Brien of Jamaica Plain and Daniel Gautreau and his wife Elaine. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and many dear college friends and school colleagues.

Linda enjoyed a career in education which began with teaching first grade and culminated as principal of the Lyons School in Randolph. She was beloved in her school community and made a difference in the lives of many children. With her abundant love, Linda was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. No one could rival her rendition of “Happy Birthday” on the kazoo! Linda and Raymond were devoted to each other for 42 years. Raymond said it all “Everyone has a guardian angel, Linda is mine.”

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass in Corpus Christi-St. Bernard Church, 1529 Washington St., (Rte. 16) West Newton, Wednesday, August 16 at 11:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., West Newton on Tuesday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 PM. Interment in Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Linda's memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Pl. West, Brookline, MA 02445 or The Price Center, Development Office, 27 Christina St., Suite 201, Newton, MA 02461-1955.
