Obituary for Floreen Margaret "Feenie" Wolfort

Floreen Margaret “Feenie” Wolfort (Fazendin) of Weston, formerly of Wellesley Hills died June 5th 2017, surrounded by her family, at the age of 83. Floreen was born November 29, 1933 in Stillwater, Minnesota to the late Florian and Lillian (Lundgren) Fazendin. She was a graduate of Stephens College in Missouri, where she earned a BA in fashion illustration. After graduating, she worked in New York City as an assistant to Charles Revson, founder of Revlon Cosmetics. Always a lover of travel, Floreen worked as a stewardess with Braniff International Airlines, and later worked for Quality Assurance at TWA, which allowed her to travel the world. She continued her education, becoming a certified esthetician and worked for a group of plastic surgeons in Boston. Later, she devoted her time volunteering in the gift shop of Brigham and Women’s Hospital helping women with cancer select wigs and clothing.
Floreen loved painting, decorating, reading, needlepoint and taking photographs with her vast array of Polaroid cameras. She loved parties, laughing and dancing at family gatherings. She enjoyed spending time in nature, birdwatching, especially her favorite hummingbirds. A devout Catholic, Floreen visited Catholic Churches everywhere she traveled, but particularly enjoyed spending time at both Saint Anthony Shrine on Arch Street in Boston and St. Julia’s Parish in Weston.
Floreen was predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Francis Gabriel Wolfort in 2003. She is survived by her three adoring children: Ramona (Lee) Wolfort, Dr. Sean Francis Wolfort with his wife Tammy Youngbar Wolfort, and Mimi Wolfort; as well as grandchildren Phoebe Grace and Sean Gabriel Wolfort.
“Feenie” will travel back to Stillwater Minnesota for a funeral Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Saturday July 8th at 1PM. Family and friends are welcome to a gathering before the Mass from 12-1PM in the Atrium of St. Michael's. Please wear colors!
