McNeil, Joan E., (Morris), of Natick, 72, died August 8th at Mass General Hospital. The youngest of 7 children, Joan was born on August 22, 1943 in Cambridge, MA to James and Sarah Morris. In July of 1969 she married John J. McNeil, Jr. of Newton, where they made their home and raised two children. Joan is survived by her best friend and ex-husband, John; a daughter Loren Umenhofer and her husband Robert of Milford; a son Scott McNeil and his wife Shannon of South Dartmouth; two granddaughters who loved their GeeGee/Grammy; and many loving nieces and nephews. Joan's memorial mass will be held on Friday, September 9th at 10:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 1317 Centre Street in Newton Centre. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Go Fund Me “Janet Kenney” or the American Heart Association.
