CHAISSON, Robert Henry. Died peacefully on Friday June 3, 2016, at the age of 91. Robert is survived by his daughter Katharine Cotheal Chaisson-Ward of Tacoma WA, his wife Lucille Faye Chaisson (Bate) of Bainbridge Island WA, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Nancy Claire Chaisson, parents Clarence Henry and Lelia Jean (Teasdale) Chaisson, and brothers Lloyd Burton and William Thomas Chaisson.

Robert grew up in Newton MA and spent much of his youth sailing the coast of New England. His love of the sea never waned. He served in the Navy during World War II then received his engineering degree from the Colorado School of Mines, where he became a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Robert was captivated by the American West and its mountain ranges, spending time in Montana, Colorado, Washington and Alaska. He eventually resettled in Newton and also had a cottage in Parsonsfield Maine. Robert was a special man with a great sense of humor who made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by all. Family and Friends will gather for a graveside service on Thursday, June 9, at 10 AM at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Centre. Robert loved cats, so in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Animal Rescue League of Boston 10 Chandler Street Boston MA 02116 or the charity of your choice.
