Obituary for Angelo Thomas Calvario

Angelo Calvario of Medway, passed away on April 14th, 2016. He was 85. A caring husband, brother, father, and grandfather, Angelo remained devoted to his family throughout his long life. Originally from Port Jervis, New York, Angelo served as a cook in the Navy before marrying his loving wife of 57 years, the late Helen Calvario (Watson) of Wellesley, in 1956. Soon after, he and Helen started raising their family—Stephen, Bill, Gary, and Susan—before eventually moving back to Massachusetts, where Angelo spent many years working for the Town of Wellesley as civil engineer. An avid fan of watching football on TV (since it was “too cold” to watch it in person), golf, and playing bingo, Angelo also enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking Sunday dinner for his children and grandchildren every week. Angelo is survived by his children William R. and his wife Bernadette N. Calvario of Hopkinton, Gary T. and his wife Christine J. Calvario of Medway and Susan M. and her husband Paul N. Coppola of Shrewsbury, his grandchildren; Sarah E., Andrew J., Derrick W., Lynsy M. Calvario He was predeceased by his son Stephen M. Calvario. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday April 20 2016 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 9 Glen Rd., Wellesley Hills at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be April 19, 2016 from 4 to 7pm at the Henry J. Burke & Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St., Wellesley Hills. Interment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Needham. Donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
