Colston, Derek Thomas, of Newton passed away unexpectantly on March 9, 2016. Loving and adored son of Judy Likely-Colston and the late Thomas W. Colston. Devoted father of Cole Lewis. Dear grandson of Nikki Likely and the late John Likely, and the late Thomas and Connie Colston. Nephew of Bob Colston, Barbi Marchione, John & Lee Cotter. Cousin of Stephanie, Michael & Stephen Cotter, Paul, Brian, Bobby & Kim Marchione and Virginia Reece. His beautiful smile and contagious laugh will be missed by all who knew him. Derek was a graduate of Newton North High School class of 2009. Family and friends will gather in St. Bernard's Church, 1521 Washington St, West Newton, Monday, March 14 for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours will be held in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte. 16), West Newton, Sunday, March 13 from 2:00 - 6:00 PM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in Derek's memory to the Meridian House, 408 Meridian St., East Boston, MA 02128.
