Obituary for Giovanni D'Angelo

Giovanni D’Angelo of Wellesley and East Falmouth passed away February 24, 2016 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich. He was 94 years old.
Mr. D’Angelo was born in Atina, Italy to the late Enrico and Annamaria (Bove)
D’Angelo, before moving to Newton, MA.
He served in the United States Navy during WWII. After the War in 1946, he married Elvira (DiGiandomenico) D’Angelo and moved to Wellesley, where they remained together until she passed in 2001.
Mr. D’Angelo was a highly regarded plastering and stucco contractor. He was an avid gardener, enjoyed watching the Red Sox (especially his favorite player, David Ortiz) and loved making wine. He was also an avid boater and fisherman who enjoyed spending time at the cape with his family.
He is survived by his children, John H. D’Angelo of East Falmouth, Robert M. D’Angelo and his wife Nancy of Wellesley and Annamarie I. D’Angelo and her husband David Wittle of East Falmouth. He is also survived by his sister, Saveria D’Angelo of Dudley, and grandchildren, Joseph R. of Conway NH, Christopher L. of Clinton, ME, Carli R. D’Angelo of Gloucester, MA and A.J Wittle of Enola, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday morning in St. Paul’s Church in Wellesley at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Friday from 4-8 PM in the Henry J. Burke and Sons Funeral Home, 56 Washington St (Rte 16) Wellesley Hills. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley.
