Kelley, Laurence E., 81, of West Newton, formerly of Somerville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at the Mass General Hospital in Boston. Beloved husband of Carolyn M. (Buonato) Kelley. Devoted father of Maria A. Guyer and her husband James of Northboro, Lawrence E. and his wife Janet of No. Easton. Dear son of the late Laurence and Lucille (Healy) Kelley. Loving grandfather of Christopher J. Guyer of Newton, Dr. Kimberly Guyer, DVM of Rockaway N.J. and Lawrence M. Kelley of No. Easton. Also survived by Kitty Kelley, his cat. Larry was a 1950 graduate of Somerville High School (lettered in football), graduate of the University of Miami where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration, served in the US Navy aboard the USS Mindoro (CVE120) and earned a National Service Defense Medal (Europe). Larry was employed as a salesman for the Beebe Rubber Co. in Nashua N.H. and Quabaug Rubber Co. in North Brookfield. Funeral from the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte. 16), West Newton, Tuesday, October 28 at 9:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Bernard's Church, West Newton at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours Monday evening from 4:00 - 8:00 PM.
