Ewing, Paul Edward, age 74, of Arlington, formerly of Newton, July 11,2013. He was the son of the late James A. "Jim" and Anna (Hogan) Ewing. Paul is survived by his brother William Ewing and sister Janet MacMunn. He was predeceased by his brother James Ewing and sister Ann Bean. Paul was devoted to his family and friends. He leaves his nieces and nephews, Billy, Brian, Bonnie Ewing, Karen McCue, Jerry and Michaela Bean. Paul was the loving godfather of Mary Ellen (MacAskill) Bronner and former guardian of Edward MacAskill. He also leaves his lifetime friends George and Mary Prendergast, their children Becky and Amy and their grandchildren Rachel, Halle, Sean and Danny as well as special friend Raffaele. Paul was a devout Catholic. He was a lifetime parishioner of Our Lady Help of Christians Parish and a Member of the Knights of Columbus in Arlington. Family and friends will gather in Our Lady's Church, 575 Washington St., Newton, MA, 02458, Monday, July 15 from 8:00 - 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM. Visiting hours Sunday evening from 3:00 - 7:00 PM in the Burke & Blackington Funeral Home, 1479 Washington St., (Rte.16) West Newton. Interment in Newton Cemetery. Donations may be made in Paul's memory to Our Lady Help of Christians Church.
